With the 2005 " Dead Ahead " DVD Remaster + Bonus Footage release!!!!! And as it goes without saying --'80's Dead Fans!!!!! Because here offered is an Ultra-Rare! " Bonus Disc " CD offering Rare / Previously-Unreleased Tracks 5-Tracks! October 1980 Radio City Music Hall run in New York City!!! Obviously, this period being the' mouth' of the Amazing " Brent-Era " - and the birth 1st year! Well, we all knew that we would most likely be in for a Very-Special treat when this one was released - way back in 2005! Wow, how time does fly... Many/most fans have seen the " Dead Ahead " Video in one form, or another over the years - but in 2005, it was re-released/remastered, had Bonus Footage added, etc.. in truly all of it's glory! Just an amazing project, at least in my opinion - as all of the pieces of the puzzle were already there Thankfully! For this to be done well -- and as you've probably seen yourself... Just about perfect multi-angle, pro-shot footage, and state of the art analog-recorded sound -- as I believe the Masters of the Audio were on Cassette?

I think so indeed, but would have to check on that to be 100% certain it wasn't reel-to-reel - either way, it's superb. Kind of like the' other' big 2005 release - " Fillmore West : The Complete Recordings "... Both of these shows were recorded audio-wise, as perfectly as Humanly, and Deadheadedly possible! As I think I just made that one up!

I'd hate to take the credit... But not sure I've heard that' term' before. I like it, I like it! - the main difference with Radio City (being'80), and Fillmore West (being'69) - was that Radio City was Filmed!!! Had the budget, I suppose - or maybe Bill!

But most importantly, it did happen. " Bonus Disc CD " - you get the Five Audio Tracks 5-Tracks! From the' Bonus Footage' of the 10/30/80 Radio City Music Hall Show, and for all serious audiophiles - and of course for collectors of the Rarest!

This one is a no-brainer - you know, one of those " Must-Haves "! It's a shame this whole 10/30/80 Night couldn't be released in entirety -- because the Boys sure are' On-it'!!! Phil's Energy is just Awesome! Throughout tons of this October'80 run, and I'm not just talkin' about the N. Gigs - as that also goes for the Warfield & New Orleans runs!

And Bobby, and that Ovation? That's just a match made in Heaven!

- the early-days, and the tones are just settling-in - nicely... All throughout, you can feel his energy & affect on the band. Electric & Acoustic for these runs...

Work on that Mu-Tron envelope filter - just a fabulous sign of the times, and his fret board-attacks can be full of love, and/or vicious, raw, and just flat-out mean! Garcia does what he wants in this period.

I truly-believe this Era in the Late-'70's / Early-'80's was the beginning stages of him becoming all he could be as a Guitar Player!! Sure, he played for' himself' a little more in the Early-'80's...

But, anyone who is a guitarist will tell you (if they are being honest)... Hey, what's wrong with that? The only difference is - this guy is the King of Rock' Roll!!! And in this magical period - Fall Tour'80?

Just magical-stuff, at least to this humble Dead Fan's ears. So here the' typed-version', of this here Magic... Heaven Help The Fool - Shakedown Street > Samson And Delilah - He's Gone > Truckin'!!!!!
